FAMILY ASSESSMENT & PLANNING TEAM (FAPT)

Purpose/Overview
The purpose of the Bedford Family Assessment and Planning Team (hereinafter referred to as Bedford FAPT) is to meet the statutory requirements of the Children’s Services Act (CSA) for at-risk youth and families which mandate the formation of such teams in communities across the Commonwealth adopted by the Virginia General Assembly in their 1992 session. This Act requires participation of community agencies providing services, in order to assure services for persons served by these agencies. It provides a collaborative system of services and funding that is child-centered, family focused and community based that will address the strengths and needs of troubled youths and their families.
